The Kwant Controls control unit type PMA-E2 is a medium sized (144x144mm) console mounted lever unit designed for rudder or bow/stern tunnel thruster control. An electric shaft system to enable synchronous operation has been included. If the electric shaft system is not required, cost reduced versions are available which also do not have a top mounting plate. In fact these are bare potentiometer drives called PMA-1 and PMA-2. The latter is the spring returned version of the PMA-1. Drawings of all three have been included. The PMA-E2, PMA-1 and PMA-2 have been type-approved by the leading classification bureaus ABS, BV, CCS, DNV, GL, LRS, NKK , RINA and RMRS.
