Highlights

Indicators of the A.S.A. series have been designed for endless azimuth angle indication and come in a number of executions:

All types are based on the same servomotor principle and require only an external potentiometer as well as a 24VDC supply voltage to make them operational. The essential difference when compared to standard indicators, is that the A.S.A.’s pointer can rotate endlessly without an endstop. To achieve this, a twin wiper potentiometer must be used as angle transmitter, refer to drw. 4A0110738. All ASA indicators have a maximum deviation of +/-0,5°

Available options:

Customized scales including limited operating angles;

Dual pointer for PS/SB thruster angle indication (A.S.A.-2);

Watertight front IP56 for A.S.A.-1 (4A0103457) and A.S.A.-4 (4A0103458);

Kwant Controls also supplies a matching signal transmitter mounted in a rugged housing, the A.S.G.-1 which can be linked to the thruster shaft by means of a sprocket and chain connection. A combination of the A.S.G.-1 and one (or more) of the A.S.A. indicators together form a reliable thruster position indication system that will last for many years without any maintenance. Drawing 4A0101353 has been added to show a possible system set-up.
