 Description
The Ultrameter II family represents a real advance in the use of ultrasound for non-contact level measurement. It is suitable for both liquids and solids measurement.

A highly developed and ultra efficient range of sensors emit a significantly higher power acoustic wave than earlier generation devices, providing enhanced accuracy and resolution and the ability to automatically compensate for and operate reliably in acoustically “noisy” or absorbent atmospheres such as vapour, or dust.

Processing of the returning echoes is handled by a software algorithm based upon many years practical application experience in the most difficult of environments. Auto locking and gain control techniques will vary the power of the transmitted pulse to the optimum level for the existing conditions, and background mapping of the tank or silo ensures that spurious false echoes can be identified and ignored, even where the “true” echo is of a smaller amplitude than these interferences.

A range of sensor frequencies are offered. The highly efficient design allows the 2 wire loop powered transmitter to measure up to 20 metres.

Installation flexibility is ensured by a choice of fittings and construction materials for compatibility with just about any medium.

Ultrameter II may be fully commissioned as a stand alone device, the integral display and keypad provide access to all scaling parameters. Enhancing this functionality Ultrameter II is equipped with an RS485 communications port. A Windows based configuration utility (available free of charge from PSM) runs on a PC connected via this port and provides powerful yet easy to use diagnostic and set up facilities to ensure the Ultrameter II is set to work simply and in the minimum possible time.
