The L-3 Simplified Voyage Recorder (SVR03) is a next generation final recording

medium stored in a protective capsule, specifically designed to be forward fit and backwards

compatible with a Simplified Voyage Data Recorder (S-VDR). The SVR03 provides a low

cost of ownership solution for the IMO mandatory fitment of existing cargo and tanker

vessels.

The L-3 Float Free Simplified Voyage Recorder (FFSVR) is specifically designed to be

integrated with a Simplified Voyage Data Recorder (S-VDR). The final recording medium

is stored in an EPIRB capsule and will automatically float-free if a vessel sinks, allowing

for surface retrieval of the FFSVR.

The VDR2000 meets the IMO Performance Standard A.861(20),the EU Directive 1999/35/EC and the IEC 61996 Test Specifications. VDR2000 is EC type approved (Wheelmark)according to EU Council Directive 96/98/EC of 20 December on Marine Equipment as amended by directive 2002/75/EC.
