The Automatic Identification System (AIS) is a monitoring system of naval traffic, useful for navigation safety with difficult meteorological conditions (fog or nocturnal navigation.) The AIS system operates on 2 expressly dedicated VHF channels (161.975 and 162.025 MHz) and allows the user to receive real time information about the traffic in the surrounding area. Glomex has planned and produced a range of calibrated antennas exactly for the specific VHF frequencies and for the AIS standards. The RA110AIS will receive signals on AIS frequencies very efficiently even when the antenna, because of the boat rolling and pitching, is not perfectly vertical. The polished polyurethane paint and the waterproof connector will allow this antenna to maintain an excellent performance for many years.

Thanks to the V9181 support supplied, the RA111AIS can be installed in a vertical or horizontal position, on the mast or on the pulpit.

The RA108 is a VHF antenna chosen by the professional sailors, from cargo ships to the terrestrial stations. The main and the 4 radial antennas allow clear communication even with very serious rolling and pitching conditions. The bushing of compressed nylon and the polished polyurethane paint of the support and of the 4 radials make the antenna watertight.

The CLASSIC series antennas are designed to fit the specific needs of all motorboats. RA1225 is a collinear antenna 2.40 m (8’) in height, designed to assure excellent performance in terms of quality, operation and design. Compared to the traditional antennas, whilst similar in shape, this antenna deeply differentiates itself due to the inside finish and the rod features. Made of spiral copper wires inserted in brass tubes, this antenna assures a long-range communication and best radio performance. The tube is made of fibreglass with polished polyurethane finish and resistant to UV-rays and is reinforced by a double-layer (1,2 mm/0,05’.) RA1225 is a vertical polarization antenna minimizing the effect of reflection on flat surfaces.
