Indicators of the A.S.A. series have been designed for endless azimuth angle indication and come in a number of executions:
All types are based on the same servomotor principle and require only an external potentiometer as well as a 24VDC supply voltage to make them operational. The essential difference when compared to standard indicators, is that the A.S.A.’s pointer can rotate endlessly without an endstop. To achieve this, a twin wiper potentiometer must be used as angle transmitter, refer to drw. 4A0110738. All ASA indicators have a maximum deviation of +/-0,5°
The Kwant Controls bargraph indicators of the LBM-series come in a number of basic types:
A number of 41 light emitting diodes (LED’s) in either green, red or yellow is used to display the input signal, therefore the display resolution is 2,5%. All types can be dimmed by means of an external low cost potentiometer, and have dial illumination in matching colors. The housing is made of black anodized aluminum, while the electronic circuitry has been sealed with a hardening compound to ensure trouble free operation. The reading can be adjusted by means of two trimmer potentiometers located at the back of the unit. The LBM-4 and 5 are available in
Indicators of the I.S.I. (Isolated Signal Indicators) series have been designed for general purposes and offer a large variety of input signals combined with the advantage of galvanic separation of the input signal and the supply voltage thus preventing ground loop problems. They come in two executions that only differ in size:
Both types are based on the same DC servomotor principle and require an external signal source e.g. 4-20mA as well as a 24VDC supply voltage to make them operational. Standard signal inputs are 4-20mA or 0-10V, other signals on request. The +24VDC LED dial illumination can be dimmed externally.
Indicators of the R.S.A. series have been designed for rudder angle indication and come in a number of executions:
Types R.S.A.-3 thru R.S.A.-8 are based on the same servomotor principle (RSM-4) and require only an external potentiometer as well as a 24VDC supply voltage to make them operational. This enables other applications like pitch indication as well, which is just a matter of adapting the scales to match the application. The R.S.A.-9 and R.S.A.-10 are cost reduced versions of the R.S.A-7 and R.S.A.-4 respectively.
This repeater can either be console mounted or bulkhead mounted with its supplied trunion bracket. In addition to the display this repeater also has additional bar graph display which can be used to indicate port or starboard manoeuvre. This system is suitable for most military applications
This is used in the event of a primary steering system failure to provide communication from the bridge to the rudder steering position.Comprises of a master and slave for each of the ships rudders. This system is suitable for most military and commercial vessels
The MD61 is mechanically connected to a rudder and transmits NMEA 0183 and a potentiometer outputs to reading devices via a junction box (MD94/RDI).
■Comply with CCS standard, the main performance index as follows
■Power supply :AC110V/AC220V 50/60Hz
■Damping period of the needle less than 3s.
■The rudder angle indicate within a range from p 55°to S 55°(or customer designed scale)
■Indicate accuracy :<0.5°
■At a distance of 1.5 meters can read the indicated value clearly.
